Discover Bank robbery x2

Robbed me twice, courtesy of Discover Bank. Online accounts were hacked/compromised.

Found unauthorized transactions on my checking debit card. Called & went through fraud protection, filed a police report, & asked for ALL of my accounts to be locked. This request was also recorded by Discover. 2 hours later an unauthorized transfer of 7k was taken from my savings account.

Notified Discover, filed police report, etc. Discover now says they couldn't retrieve the UNAUTHORIZED transfer so tough *** Are they not FDIC insured as they claim? Is their online security so bad they cannot prevent this? Are their online reps so confused that my last call was transferred to (7) different people with no resolution?

If you have any hope of KEEPING your hard earned money do NOT, repeat DO NOT, put it in any Discover Bank accounts!!! Please learn from experience, dont be a victim like Discover has made me!

Stick with credit unions. They don't screw customers so they can buy naming rights to sports venues.

Still trying to get a refund

I have been trying to get a refund on a purchase for 18 months. Customer service has been horrible.

I get different answers every time, and they ask for something else whenever I provide what they request. They place the burden of communication between the merchant and Discover on the customer. It is horrible since customers know how the company processes charges/credits/communications with merchants. They describe themselves as liaison but do not communicate between them.

They do not care about the financial pains they put customers through. In my case, the merchant has repeatedly authorized the credit to be authorized, but Discover simply won't do it.

I don't understand how it isn't considered fraud or theft. Absolutely the worst company I have ever had to deal with.

I strongly suggest writing a Short, Concise, letter to the lowest customer service person at the company. A list of these people will be found on www.Elliott.org search for company contacts.

Mail the letter to the lowest person on the ladder. Wait one week for a response, if none, mail the same letter to the next one up the ladder.

Do not use any emotion, just the facts and a suggested resolution. Often AI is handling your problem and cannot figure out how to help.

They won’t contact me

I have never missed a payment, I always pay my balance in full in advance.

My FICO credit score has increased too, now discover has just decided to decrease my availability just for no reason and they wont do anything about it

Fraud attempt

received an email from Meta saying that I had made an update to my Discover card, which I did not do. And a dollar was charged to my account.

It seemed very suspicious.

The person who assisted on my call was very helpful. I was actually transferred three times but each person was very friendly and explained the transfers.

No concern for their customers at all

Just had my account closed due to missing a deadline for identity verification. I called after my card was declined and they said it had been canceled 3 days prior.

Ive had the card for more than 10 years.

I didnt receive a single notification regarding this. Even in their app nothing was mentioned.

Available credit

I always make my payment in full and on time but discover card had no business in decreasing my available credit. My FICO score has even increase so they have no reason decreasing my avaibility.

I have have another credit card with another bank and everything is going smoothly with them.

I regret that I chose discover card

There are 2 charges on my new Discover card from Howly.com both on 1/16/24 one for $1.00 & the others for $55.00. I called the number listed and they say they didn’t issue any charges.

Un answered questions that I have rights to ask

I just opened a checking and savings account in November. All of a sudden I am blocked and account is frozen due to suspicious activity...from the mail I receive and the investigating I've done my name has had many accounts open with you for many years.

Is my account frozen because I was asking too many legitimate questions? Confused isn't even the word.
