I was a loyal Discover Card holder since 1990. Then I received a notice that Discover, not due to any credit information or reports, was converting my annual percentage rate to a variable rate. I am certainly not the kind of customer they like, I normally don't carry a balance, and pay my bills on time. No easy money on my account.
I called customer service to find out why this was being done. The nice lady informed me that this was to improve Discover's interest position, and if I didn't like it, she could transfer me to a department to cancel my account. Then she thanked me for my business. Ha.
So much for 18 years of being a loyal customer. I cancelled the card. What pathetic service.
